Moon Knight was created by Doug Moench and Don Perlin, and made his first appearance in Marvel Spotlight #28 in 1975. He was originally conceived as a villain named Marc Spector, but later became a hero. Moon Knight is often compared to Batman, due to his dark and mysterious nature.

His most recent arc, wonderfully written by Jed MacKay with art by Alessandro Cappuccio has Mr. knight assuming the role as a faithless priest of Khonshu dealing with his religious zealot counterpart Hunters Moon. Moon Knight's newest status quo and set of challenges makes him one of the most interesting characters in comics today. Moon Knight is a fascinating character with a rich history that sets him apart from other heroes in the Marvel universe.
